Well Hello Friends of mine!
I cannot believe that today is the start of my third week in Upland, California. It has been unseasonably hot here, but I am not complaining! It is not nearly as hot as I am sure it is in Florida! (Even though I miss Florida!)
We have been working a lot with the members. We have heard a lot of rumors of missionaries that have not been the best with gaining ward trust, and so we are working hard with being the best we can to build that trust. We had a member of the Seventy come to our mission and talk to us about building trust with the Bishop is your best tool for success as missionaries, and so we are doing our absolute best to serve him and our other members. Needless to say, we have been doing a lot of service lately! And we love it.
As far as people we are teaching, well, remember when Ammon is cutting off arms of the Lamanites who are scattering the sheep in Alma 17, and he says, “and they were not a few”? Well, that is not the case for us! We are teaching BUT a few! However, we are working SO hard to be the very best missionaries that we can be, to qualify for those blessings of Heaven and start to see miracles. And we certainly see them little by little everyday.
This is my new companion and I! He is a goofy dude 🙂 Have a great week!
